description:
Healed genital lesions in a 30-year-old cisgender man with HMPX.
Located at the base of the penile shaft is a lesion that has healed with hypopigmentation and minimal hypertrophy; this lesion was initially 15-mm, part of the secondary crop of lesions, and took 18 days to heal.
A second healed lesion is seen overlying the scrotum and associated with light hypopigmentation (not well visualized here); this lesion was initially 8-mm, part of the primary crop of lesions, and took 27 days to heal.
There was no history of immunocompromising conditions or medications. This man was on Truvada for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis. He also received Imvamune for HMPX pre-exposure prophylaxis 3 days before illness onset.
